Adults : Friday Morning Studio Group and Art Class General Information Time Fridays 9.30am to 12 noon (Setting up from 9am) Terms of enrolment
Venue Occasionally other tutors might be brought in for short periods, but alwyas Jennifer convens the programme and works closely with the tutors. The emphasis is on drawing & painting. The class offers: tuition, discussion and and an environment in which the student is encouraged to develop their own personal style. The format will be varied with some directed drawing classes, life drawing, media experiments, & personal development studio time. The format for the Friday Morning class is similar to a two-teacher school where students with different levels of experience and technical skills work together. Directed activities are divided into Beginner-Intermediate and Intermediate – Advanced and a “Studio” option is always available for Advanced students. Many Advanced (or Studio Level) students prefer to do the Studio option regardless of the directed activity scheduled “Studio” refers to a mentoring approach. In keeping with the philosophy of this class advanced students who wish to pursue their own direction may do so. On days programmed as “Studio”, tutors will prioritize mentoring of individual activities. On other days tutors will endeavour to assist as far as possible but tutored activities will have priority. Eileen and Jennifer work together on a team-teaching approach but each will have primary input with a particular group. Eileen with the beginners- intermediate and Jennifer with the intermediate – advanced. The year is broken into 4 terms . Each term a programme outline is presented. Some terms this will include an optional workshop or a number of directed activities. Directed activities are often divided into two main groups being: (A) beginner - intermediate and (B)intermdiate - advanved. Advanced students may opt for the studio group. Semester 1 (terms 1 & 2) of 2012 has a special program catering for beginners and others who want to brush up basics.
